Key Responsibilities:
You will work with cross-functional teams like Engineering, Helpdesk, and Product Management as a Junior Software Support Engineer to make sure that GLG’s technology platforms run smoothly. Your duties will involve:
- Reliability of the System: GLG’s mission-critical systems must remain operational and reliable. To avoid downtime, monitor system performance and anticipate potential issues.
- Issue Resolution: Work with Engineering and Helpdesk groups to triage, diagnose, and fix system problems. Troubleshoot and investigate technical issues, delivering timely and effective solutions.
- Security Collaboration: Work with IT security teams to detect and remediate security vulnerabilities. Implement security best practices and protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
- Stakeholder Communication: Explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders concisely and clearly. Collaborate with users and product managers to determine requirements and enhance system functionality.
- Maintenance of Codebase: Join a large pre-existing codebase to identify and resolve problems. Contribute to the enhancement of software systems within GLG by implementing optimizations and enhancements.
- Continual Improvement: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technology to provide suggestions for change. Participate in code review and assist in creating best practices.
An Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Technical Skills: Programming languages and technologies skills including React, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, and SQL. Knowledge of full-stack development standards and methodologies. Skill in maintaining and debugging massive, complicated codebases.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Great enthusiasm for solving problems and debugging.
